Simple Underlay Christmas Dispatch and Delivery : 

Get your underlay delivery before Christmas : Please order by 11am on Thursday December 20th 2012

Our last dispatch date for orders up to 11am on this day, will be Thursday December 20th with delivery scheduled for Friday December 21st. Please do not order for delivery on this day unless you can guarantee to be in on this day to take delivery.

No dispatch will occur between Friday December 21st 2012 to Tuesday 1st of January 2013, due to the Christmas and New year dates running straight after weekends and also our couriers who will not be working during the festive break. 

Our own office will be closed from the 22nd of December through to the 2nd of January 2013.  We will be running a skeleton staff on the 27th and 28th of December to answer any questions or take orders direct, however we will not be dispatching items over these days as our couriers can not provide next day delivery guarantees between christmas and new year. 

Any orders taken between the 21st of December and the 1st of January 2013 will be dispatched on Wednesday the 2nd of January 2012.

Delivery Charges

To keep things as simple as we can, the charge for delivery of each item of underlay is £5.79 plus VAT.   This is at cost, and we do not mark up the charge given to us by our courier. Rolls of underlay are extremely bulky and very heavy, and due to Health and Safety regulations it is not possible to try and cut corners by sticking two rolls together to reduce postage costs.  Therefore, to make our prices competitive, we do not charge extra over and above the charge made by our couriers.

Simply choose the items you wish to purchase and the delivery charge, which is additional, will be applied at check out and can clearly be identified.  

The 10 - 15 rolls will be activated automatically so that you only pay £57.90 plus vat for bulk delivery

Please note however that deliveries are to UK Mainland only.  If you are based on any UK offshore island or the Highlands and Islands, please contact us first so that we can quote you for delivery.  Please note  that our couriers can charge double price for these areas.


Adding additional smaller items to your order.

if you wish to add something like door plates to your order, rather than add them online which will incur a delivery charge if your delivery total is less than £59.60 plus VAT, then just give us a call once you have placed your order (or drop us an e.mail) and we will add the additional items to your order, charging just for the items and not for the delivery.

Delivery times :

All orders are processed and dispatched within 2 working days of full payment.  We use reputable courier services around the UK with door to door delivery.   All orders must be signed for. Deliveries tend to take between 1 - 2 working days from dispatch, but are often next day delivery.  You will receive a full tracking e.mail on the day of dispatch so please ensure that your e.mail address is correct.

Please ensure that you put a correct phone number on your order.  This is for the couriers use only, should they have problems finding your address.  Please Note : For your own privacy, we shall not use your phone number or any information given, for any purpose, other than delivery of this order, or payment query.

Please ensure that you put your full address on the order form - part addresses will result in problems during delivery. If you have any further delivery instructions or directions (If the property is hard to find for instance) - please put these in the special instructions section on the order form. If you wish to have the items delivered to a different address, please use this section for that also.

Signatures are only accepted from the householder.  We will not accept signatures from people outside the house, i.e. fixing a car or standing outside the gate!!!   Our couriers have our approval to refuse to deliver an item if they feel suspicious of circumstances.
If you would like your order leaving in a secure place without requiring a signature, we shall need full details on the order, however, please be aware that cannot be held responsible for items that go missing if you choose this option.
On the day of delivery, if there is no one in at your designated delivery address to accept the order, then the courier will leave a card with clear instructions how to contact them for another delivery spot - they will then take the underlay back to the local depot.  

Please note if our couriers are not contacted by the end of Day Twp after leaving a card, the order will be returned to and you will be refunded with the cost of your order less the delivery and the return charge. 

If you expect to be away on business or on holiday during this period, please advise us when it will be possible to deliver your order and we can delay delivery.  

Please do not organise a fitter until you receive your underlay as delivery cannot be guaranteed for certain days or times. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE - FRAUDULENT PAYMENTS. take a very high stance against the fraudulent use of payment methods including credit and debit cards. Our secure payment provider Sagepay highlights fraudulent payments immediately.  If we feel that any order/payment has been made fraudulently, we reserve the right to delay, or refuse to process, delivery of the order. 

We do not deliver to a different address to the credit card address without prior arrangement.
We apologise to any customer who places a legitimate order and for any inconvenience caused, however, it is essential that security steps are taken wherever we feel necessary to safeguard customers identities, details, payments and our products.  Should we feel that a payment has been made fraudulently we shall make every effort to contact the original card owner and their bank to report this.

All orders are insured, and should your order, for an unforeseeable reason, not be received and be classed as missing by the courier (usually within 7 working days)  a new one will be dispatched at no extra cost to the customer. 

If you have not received your order after 5 working days, please contact us on 01924 438334 with your order number and surname.  We will then chase up the consignment for you.

Is VAT included?
No, in accordance with all other online underlay companies, and to avoid confusion, VAT is added to the cost of your order at checkout. You can clearly see the cost ex VAT on all our items.   We keep delivery charges as a separate charge (if applicable) so that you can see the true cost of your order.  (See Delivery Charges and exceptions below) 
How can I pay?

Payment by Paypal, visa, master card, maestro, switch, or solo via our secure payment provider Sagepay. or you can call us direct on 01924 438334 and we cna take your order over the phone.  Please note that your delivery and card address must match.

If you choose to pay by cheque, we will need up to six working days after receipt of the cheque, for bank clearance before we can process your order. We accept postal orders, and once these have been received, we will then despatch your order.

Stock Control

The website is usually up to date and clearly shows when an item is out of stock, however, we will inform you by e.mail within 1 working days if your order is out of stock, or if there is a problem, and you can choose whether or not to proceed with your order.  


We know that you will be pleased with your purchases from However, there may be occasions when you will need to return items to us.
Items Damaged in Transit

If any items were damaged in transit, we ask that you report it to us within 5 working days. If the items are visibly damaged on receipt, it's best to sign the carrier's delivery note accordingly. Items should be returned in their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation. Once received back into our warehouse, we'll issue a replacement or full refund to you via your original payment method and reimburse your reasonable return carriage costs.

Items Faulty on Arrival

If your items are faulty on arrival, you have 5 calendar days in which to inform us of the fault. Items should be returned in their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation. Once we have verified the fault, we'll issue a replacement or full refund to you via your original payment method and reimburse your reasonable return carriage costs. We test returned items, and if a returned item is found not to be faulty by our technicians we will return the item to you, in this instance you will be liable for the return carriage.

Items Faulty in Warranty Period

If any of your purchases develop a fault, and it's more than 28 calendar days since receipt, then provided your item is within its warranty period, you are entitled to a warranty repair. In some cases, manufacturers provide a specialist full on-site service and/or telephone help facilities for your convenience which we recommend you use in order to correct the fault quickly.

If you simply change your mind
If you have simply changed your mind about any item ordered and you wish to return it, then in line with the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR) you can do so provided you inform us of your decision within 7 days of receipt. The item must not be used and must be 'as new' when returned to us. Once you've informed us that you wish to return goods under the DSR, you have 28 calendar days to do so, at your own expense. Once the item is received at, we'll issue a full refund for the product (not including the original delivery charge or the return charge) via your original payment method if at all possible. (This does not include credit/debit card payments - see Refunds below)
Please note this policy has some limitations and does not apply to business customers.
All refunds are made by the original payment method.  We cannot pay via an alternative.

Please note : We do not accept returns or make refunds on any item purchased from our X Stock, or shop soiled clearance section. The items are sold at a massive reduction and as such are sold as stock as seen/read online.

Laminate Underlay

Do NOT use carpet underlay for laminate. Laminate underlay comes in two basic forms, fibre boards, or foam. Laminate underlay is designed to allow a certain amount of flexing, importantly they are also designed to help prevent "drumming" which is the noise you make walking over the laminate. Carpet underaly is designed to add spring, which will break the joints on laminate. Always use foam underlay as you can bring it up the wall by 15mm as recommended. This helps prevent any damp ingressing into the laminate boards.

Airstep Underlay

Airstep Underlay is available in 7mm, 9mm and 11 mm. Airstep Underla is a APT Foam underlay and has a luxury use rating. Airstep underlay is ideal for use in domestic use areas where a fitting with a high degree of comfort is required. Airstep Underlay is manufactured by Simply Underlay on our own premises to a very high standard and is guaranteed for the life of the carpet.
